We assume that in a few years’ time we will need much more hydrogen than we do now. Naturally, the current and future use of hydrogen will have to be clean and sustainably produced: low in CO2 through the capture of greenhouse gases from residual gases during production, or completely CO2-free through the production of hydrogen from water using energy from the sun and wind. Our association is committed to this.
This means that we must achieve sufficient production capacity in the Netherlands. This hydrogen can be produced in the Netherlands or elsewhere, but imports will also be an important source of hydrogen.
The Production Committee, made up of members, regularly discusses the production and import of sustainable hydrogen and how government policy can stimulate this.
